Jesus’ Image Found Inside Muslim’s Pilgrimage Guide Book
The Ministry of Religious Affairs Office in Bengkulu city found Jesus’ picture inside a Muslim pilgrimage guidebook. The image was found when some pilgrims were performing their religion rituals.
“Inside the book, there is a picture of Jesus as a shepherd herding the sheep,” said one of the participants, Menasik Yusrati. She suspected that foul play was involved in this pilgrimage guide book. “There is no way that this picture could appear suddenly out of nowhere,” she said.
Yusrati explained, the pilgrimage guidebook should only contain religious prayers, Dhikr and frequently asked questions by pilgrims. However, there is one page that has a picture of Jesus attached. In the picture, Jesus is depicted as a shepherd, herding his sheep and. “Jesus, the good shepherd” is written underneath the picture.
In regards to the picture, Head of the Pilgrimage Ministry in Bengkulu, Efendi Joni explained that the guidebook was obtained from the Directorate General for Religion Ministry of the Republic Indonesia.
“That book will be returned to the directorate to be investigated further,” said Effendi. He is worried that this picture might lead to further conflicts between religions.
According to Efendi, after checking 280 guidebooks which were already distributed to other pilgrims, the religion ministry employees only found one guidebook that contained the picture in question.
