The 2012 London Olympics has officially ended. The closing ceremony was held magnificently at the London Olympic Stadium on Sunday, August 12, 2012 (Monday local time).

The closing ceremony was as spectacular as the opening ceremony on July 27th. The theme for this closing ceremony was “A Symphony of British Music”, where there were some British performers who came to participate including Muse, One Direction, and the Spice Girls.

At the beginning of the ceremony, there was a parody of the daily life in London where there were bikes, cars, buses, and several other vehicles passing by.

The United States of America was the overall champion for this Olympics. Uncle Sam won a total of 104 medals which consisted of 46 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals.

Meanwhile China, which was the overall winner four years ago when it was the host country, failed to defend its title. The “Bamboo Curtain” country only won 87 medals which consisted of 38 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals.

Third place was the current Olympics host country United Kingdom which had collected 29 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze medals.

Indonesia itself had to settle for 63rd position. The Red and White team only won one silver and one bronze medal this time. Unfortunately, the gold medal tradition that had been maintained consistently since the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games had to be ended this time.

Nothingfor:

Why is Indonesia only in the 63rd position? =(

Lucid:

Indonesia’s achievement is worse this time! BTW, the Asian Thief‘s ranking comes after Indonesia’s this time.

Churya:

The most important is China isn’t the overall champion hahaahaha….

Wolfdale47:

As long we’re not below Malaysia Shit, it should be okay!
Hopefully next time we can be in the Top 10.

myHeronAngel:

Not bad, Asia (China) is almost comparable to the United States.
However, it’s quite strange, how come suddenly they have that big gap [in medal count]?

Christolho:

It’s okay… We’re still better than Portugal! =)

Eckoland:

Indonesia always depends on the same sport events for its gold tradition. Are we really proud of having no progress at all with the Olympics medal count?

Bayunurzardari:

Indonesia is getting worse!

Agilla3905:

Congrats to our contingent!
Keep improving for future events… don’t just give gifts to the medal winners, but also punish those soap opera [badminton] players!

Zephyr1502:

When can Indonesia be the overall champion of the Olympics? =(

Hantu.gagal:

If China, which can get that many medals, is considered a failure, how about Indonesia, boss?

Nikko.ys:

Congrats Indonesia for not getting a gold medal!

ItzMeJoe:

Just don’t bring home the gold medal, boss, otherwise they’ll corrupt it at home! Hahahahaa….

Bloncheng88:

Thank God we’re not last, boss!

Pradana96:

Oh dear, boss, what if badminton is removed from the next Olympics!

Zzz83:

Ahhh… The Spice Girls is still so cool eh! Hopefully they’ll release a new album hihi…

Gatotsukoco22:

Keep up the good work, Indonesian athletes!
It’s okay as long as Malaysia’s rank is still below us.

What do you think?
