Police Will Repair House Destroyed By Detachment 88
Police will repair the damaged house that was destroyed as a result of a mistaken ambush for Firman [an alleged Solo terrorist involved in attacks upon police]. The house belongs to a man named Erik who resides at Kwitang, Central Jakarta.
“It will be repaired by the police,” said Police Commissioner Mulyadi Kaharni Depok, during his visit to the ambush site located in Carnation Park Housing II, Block E1 / 1, Kalimulya, Depok, West Java.
When Detachment 88, a counter-terrorism squad, ambushed Firman, the team initially thought the hideout location was located across the place where Firman was at.
Having previously shouted orders and fired warning shots, the team broke into the wrong house by smashing its windows.
Once inside, the team found the house to be empty. The team then went to the opposite house after hearing suspicious sounds.
Mulyadi also insisted there was no exchange of fire during the ambush. Any evidence seized in the raid will be handled by Detachment 88.
“We just secured the site so residents would not be interfered by the raid. The crime scene is still under further investigation,” explained Mulyadi.

If the wrong person was shot, can they be brought to life again?
Fillipo:
Wow, what a nice idea… Next time please raid my house, but only when it’s empty. It’s just a coincidence that I need to have my house door and windows renovated.

Let’s play Ayu Ting Ting‘s song: ALAMAT PALSU [WRONG ADDRESS]. Haha.

There’s one interesting fact left out from the news: The house WAS NOT LOCKED!!

All I can say is “STUPID”!

Wow, totally unprofessional. If this happens to me, I would ask for 100x compensation damage.

Hopefully when my kid grows up, he will be able to defeat Detachment 88 who only knows to act tough. I make my kid practice and improve his skills in POINT BLANK [a first person shooter video game].
Kevin:
Detachment 88 is rubbish and stupid. I am certain there have been multiple wrongful arrests in the past.
Iin Jiin:
It’s normal for humans to make mistakes. Detachment 88 is not God.
Bintang Mandiri:
If [the squad] went to the wrong house, it will make it into the news. If the wrong person was shot, this news will disappear.
Pramuji:
The house needs to be repaired… ASAP.
Sultan:
Indonesian police is so unqualified, unlike Malaysia.
Cristiangoes:
Fortunately it’s only a house so it can still be repaired. What if the incident involved the loss of human life???
What do you think? Should Detachment 88 offer more compensation other than repairing the damaged house?
