Dean Mathew, an Australian guy from Sydney, earned some widespread Indonesian attention after he posted a video of himself singing a cover of the viral Indonesian parody of One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ with lyrics supporting the current Jokowi-Basuki campaign for Jakarta’s governorship.
In anticipation of the final round of Jakarta gubernatorial election today, September 20th, he published his video on the 18th under his “iheartindonesia” YouTube username, where his voice and fluent Bahasa Indonesia singing impressed many Indonesian viewers.
